Glycol Gas Dehydration

Water vapor is the most common unwanted impurity in gas streams. Usually, water vapor and hydrates are formed, that is, the solid phase that may be precipitated from the gas when compressed or cooled. Liquid water speeds up corrosion, and ice (or solid hydrate) can block valves, fixtures, and even gas lines. To prevent such difficulties, the gas stream, which will be transported in transmission lines, must mainly be dried according to the specifications of the pipeline. Natural gas processing according to pipeline specifications usually includes four main processes;

  • Removal of oil and condensate
  • Removal of water
  • Separation of natural gas liquids
  • Removal of sulfur and carbon dioxide
